SPOTLIGHT SHOWDOWN

The user interface art created for the video game, Spotlight Showdown, created during the 48-hour Global Game Jam at the Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) at Georgia State University, was awarded Best Overall game at the Global Game Jam site.

01 MENUS
Taking inspiration from Japanese culture, the menu buttons are designed after the Ema, while adding black strokes around the design to fit in with the rest of the game's design.

02 IN-GAME
The in-game user interface consists of a player an action gauge and an audience gauge. With respective colors and icons to represent the two character (the Oni and the Tengu), the respective gauges allows the player to differentiate and process quickly in the fast paced game.

03 LOGO & TITLE CARD
Taken from the artist drawings of the Oni and the Tengu, the title card and icon orients the masks and in dynamic way that allows for an easy reading and viewing for the video game title, Spotlight Showdown: The Oni & the Tengu.
