SPOTLIGHT SHOWDOWN

The user interface art created for the video game, Spotlight Showdown, for the 48-hour Global Game Jam at the Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) at Georgia State University. It was awarded Best Overall game at the Global Game Jam site and Best in Georgia award from the Georgia Game Developers Association two months later.

01 MENUS
The main, option, and credits menu takes inspiration from more general imagery of theatre, while the individual stages take inspiration from their respective cultures.

02 IN-GAME
The in-game user interface consists of a player action gauge and icons representing the various characters, allowing the player to differentiate and process quickly in the fast-paced game.






03 LOGO & TITLE CARD
Taking inspiration from the general image of theatre, the title card uses a simple black-and-white color scheme and the comedy and tragedy masks commonly associated with theatre to represent the video game's theme and style.
